1. Match

Match with like minded individuals based on your interests and ideals.

Amicus quickly gets you chatting with the people in your own backyard.

2. Talk

There are no profiles to browse and no pictures to see. Form a relationship based on who you are, not what you look like.

After some time chatting, you and your partner can choose to like each other or move on.

3. Befriend

Once you've hit it off and both liked each other, you can see your partner's profile, pictures, and first name.

From there, continue talking and grow your friendship.

Develop real friendships

Lasting friendships aren't built on shallow subjects. With no risk of bias or judgement, everyone is free to truly show themselves. We believe the best relationships are based on character and conversation.

Anonymity until you're ready

Your personal information, including name and pictures, remain a secret until you decide to reveal them. This happens when you and your chat partner both choose to like each other.

Judgement free

All you are is what you say. You are completely free to express yourself in a manner unobstructed by bias, stereotypes, or prejudice.

Matching that makes sense

Friendships over long distances or between wide age gaps are great. But, we believe the closest relationships are the ones where you can meet each other for coffee in the afternoon or for a drink in the evening. That's why we try our best to match people close in age and location.

Timing is everything

You and your partner will need to have a conversation for at least 10 minutes or 10 messages each (whichever is longer) before you can decide that you like each other. But, that doesn't mean that you have to make the decision immediately. Conversations can continue indefinitely until both participants have made a decision.

Safe and secure

Meeting strangers can be a daunting task. Amicus aims to provide the safest and most comfortable environment to talk with new people. Alongside anonymity by default, you can leave a conversation at any time and block or report any harassing people. Amicus blocks picture and link sharing in initial chats.

Friendship is the only cement that will ever hold the world together.

The world is a beautifully frightening, ever changing place. Society, dating back to the very first humans, flourishes today consequent of the relationships that we make in our lives. Loneliness is rampant and prejudices are all too easy to maintain in a social media culture defined by the count of our "friends" list. How many of these people can you actually count on? How many will listen to you, encourage you, support you? How many would you do the same for? Finding real friends —fun, lasting, true relationships— is no easy feat in a world where we've been taught to make snap judgements; swiping left and right on the basis of appearance alone. Amicus aims to change the way we meet people and make friends by breaking the biases of traditional values and judgements.

The only thing that matters is who you are.

Ultimately the bond of all companionship, whether in marriage or in friendship, is conversation.

There’s not a word yet for old friends who’ve just met.

- Jim Henson

If you go looking for a friend, you’re going to find they’re very scarce. If you go out to be a friend, you’ll find them everywhere.

- Zig Ziglar

Friendship is the only cement that will ever hold the world together.

- Woodrow T. Wilson

It is not so much our friends’ help that helps us, as the confidence of their help.

- Epicurus

A friend is someone who knows all about you and still loves you.

- Elbert Hubbard

Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art.... It has no survival value; rather it is one of those things which give value to survival.

- C.S. Lewis

Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born.

- Anaïs Nin

Friendship marks a life even more deeply than love. Love risks degenerating into obsession, friendship is never anything but sharing.

- Elie Wiesel

Friends are the family you choose.

- Jess C. Scott

Judging others makes us blind, whereas love is illuminating. By judging others we blind ourselves to our own evil and to the grace which others are just as entitled to as we are.

- Dietrich Bonhoeffer

It is not our differences that divide us. It is our inability to recognize, accept, and celebrate those differences.

- Audre Lorde

Choose your friends and mates, not by the money in their bank account, creed, ethnicity, or color; instead, choose character, actions, heart, and soul. When we bleed, we bleed the same color.
